Petra The World Top Attraction UNESCO World Heritage Sites

The lost city of Petra; is one of the greatest wonders ever wrought by Nature and Man.
Petra means “rock” in Ancient Greek, a historical and archaeological city in the southern Jordanian carved out of red sandstone desert cliffs. Swiss explorer named Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812 followed some local tribesmen there, since it’s beauty was hidden from the western world behind layers of mountain. The beauty of red mountains and its construction with Sandstone was recently said to be one of the seventh wonder of the world and in 1985 it belonged to the UNESCO world heritage site as a valuable treasure of the world.
